Places to Visit in AndamanPort Blair: The capital of this UT, Port Blair is a charming place. Over the years, Port Blair has developed into a nice tourist hub and more and more travelers are visiting it to enjoy its virginal charm, spotless beaches and unpolluted waters which have become a great hit with all -- more so the snorkellers and divers.Chatam Island: This USP of this place is the biggest Saw Mill of its type in Asia. Ross Islands: Located north of Port Blair, just across a narrow stretch of sea, these beautiful islands were earlier the seat of British Administration. Mount Harriet: It lies on the other side of Ross Island and is the highest hill around the South Andaman. The hill top gives a panoramic view of the capital and the surrounding areas. Madhuban: Located nearly 15kms from the capital, Madhuban boasts of a lovely sea beach in front, and hills behind. Presently, it is employed by foresters who use it as a training place for elephants. Havelock Island: The Island has some of the finest coral reefs of various shapes and colours - a virtual treat for the eyes. Neil Island: It has a long shallow beach and is used for timbering purposes. The place has a wonderful lake also. |
