Founded on the teachings of the Sri Aurobindo and Mother, Auroville is a community that works towards transforming life into Supramental consciousness.  This ashram helps you to do self realization of things and achieve spirituality not by doing any abandonment of the world but on an active engagement with life and matter.

Auroville follows certain charters:

Auroville is like a city that has four zones: Cultural, Residential, Industrial and International, that surrounds a central area of peace. In the center of Auroville there is a Banyan tree next to Matrimandir that symbolizes human aspirations towards the divine and divine's answer to the aspiration.

It is nice place for meditation. The inner chamber of Matrimandir, is made of white marble that is the zone of pin drop silence. In its center there is world's largest crystal ball that is illuminated by single ray of light.
