
This small hill station located in the northern part of the state of Uttarakand, famous for Lake resort around Nainital. Bhimtal is named after Bhima, the Mahabharat character. This town attracts number of tourists by its peaceful surroundings. It is seen that Bhimtal is much less crowded than Nainital and the lake, Bhimtal is much cleaner than it's better known counterpart Nainital.
Main Attractions of Bhimtal
Nainital : This is popularly known as the "lake district of India" and is situated in Uttaranchal. This is a lovely hill station surrounded by mountain on three sides is 34 km from Kathgodam and is the gateway of Kumaon. It was discovered by a Britisher called Lord Barron in1841. Earlier this area has many lakes due to which it was called "Chakta" or the city of 60 lakes but with passage of time all these lake disappeared.
Naina Devi Temple : This temple is dedicated to Sati and located on the northern side of the Naini Lake.
Naini Lake : This is one of the famous tourist attractions of Nanital. This picturesque blue green lake is located in the district of Nainital.
Snow View Trek : This Snow view point is located at a height of 2270 m above sea level.from here you can easily reach to Nanda Devi Sanctuary and also the Central Kumaon region.
Naukuchia Tal : It is situated at an altitude of 1,219 m and it is picturesque lake. Naukuchiatal attracts migratory birds, which makes it Paradise for bird watchers.
