Binsar Hills, Uttranchal
Binsar Hills Located at a distance of 26kms from Almora. Binsar was once the summer capital of the Chand Rajas of 7th to 8th centuries. Binsar is one of the most scenic spots in the Kumaon Himalayas as here you will find alpine flora, ferns, hanging moss and species of wild fowers. Tourist all across the world comes here to see the majestic view of the Himalayas and enjoy trekking.

Main Attractions of Binsar Hills

Almora : This is 34 kms from Binsar well known for maintaining old tradition of titled roofed houses and paved streets. Places of tourist interest here is Chitai Temple, Kasar Devi, Nandi Devi Temple, Ram Krishna Mission Ashram and Deer Park.

Jalna : This is 59 kms from Binsar at a height of 5500 feet providing panoramic view of the Himalayas. Here you will find number of Orchids farms and fruit farms like peaches, pears, plums, apples and apricots. Nearby it you will find Kutumbari Devi and Banari Devi temple that was constructed in the 9th century AD.

Katarmal : This is 51 kms from Binsar . It houses the famous sun temple built by the Katyuri rajas 800 to 900 years ago.

Jageshwar : This grand temple complex, consist of 124 temples famous not only for its exquisite craftsmanship but for its pristine beauty due to its proximity to the forests of thick Deodar.
