Chamba Valley, Himachal Pradesh
Chamba Valley This is one of the most idealistic and picturesque valleys in the Himalayas. This Chamba valley lies between the Dhauladhar and the Zanskar range in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India situated at an altitude of 726 meter above the sea level.

This valley is founded in 20 AD by Raja Sahil Verma who named it after his favorite daughter "Champavati". Here you will find the pictorial landscapes, rich exotic wildlife of the Chamba valley, surrounding greenery and exotic wildlife areas.

Main Attractions of Chamba Valley

Bhuri Singh Museum : This museum was opened on 14th September 1908n Bhuri Singh Museum was opened on 14th September 1908 and is named after Raja Bhuri Singh who ruled Chamba from 1904 to 1919. This museum is very near to Chamba's Chaugan.

Champawati Temple : Close to the royal palace at Chamba, there is a stone sikhara temple dedicated to Goddess Champavati. Tradition holds that the town of Chamba was named after her.

Chaurashi Temple : The main temples of Lakshmi Devi, Ganesh and Manimahesh and Nar Sing in Bharmour are known as Chaurashi temples.

Kalatope Khajjiar Sanctuary : This is 30 km from Dalhousie to Chamba. Here you see various animals. Beside this you will find Sikhara temple dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva. To the Northern Side you will find Laxmi-Narayan temple.

Lamba Dal : This lake lies in admits bare rock held scared to lord Shiva.

Markula Devi Temple : This is a small village in Chamba- Lahaul at the junction of 'Miyar Nala' with the Chandrabhaga.

Pangi Valley : This is situated in the upper part of Chamba District located between Pir Panjal and the Great Himalayan Zanskar ranges.

Parbati Valley : Here you will find giant edge pinnacled mountain peaks, twists west from snowfields and glaciers.

Rang Mahal : This was built by Raja Umed Singh in the mid 18th century. This place is lined with exquisite examples of wall paintings in the Punjab Hills style, all of which depict the life and times of Lord Krishna.

Shakti Temple : Here you will find famous Devi temple founded by Meruvarman that is 700A.D old.

Chamba : This is also known as Ravi Valley. Here the beautiful scenery shows the picturesque and delightful sights.

Chamba Minjiar Mela : This Minjiar Mela was started in 935 AD when the Raja of Chamba defeated the ruler of "Trigarta", now known as Kangra. On his return, a celebration was held, and he was greeted by people with sherfs of maze and Paddy.

Chamera Lake : This reservoir is built over the river Ravi offering numerous water sports facilities to the visitors.
