Idukki, Kerala
Idukki This is the unspoilt nature located in the southern part of Kerela spread over an area of 5019 sq. kms. Idukki is blessed by mother nature as this place offers diverse attractions for wild life sanctuaries, spice plantation centers and hill stations.

This Idukki district was formed on January 26, 1972 carving out Devikulam, Udumbanchola and Peerumedu The name 'Idukki' is supposedto be derived from the Malayalam word `idukku', which means a narrow gorge.

Main Attractions of Idukki

Munnar : This place is called a "Virgin Munnar" in Tourism industry as it was untouched. Here you can enjoy tea plantations and mountain hills.

Devikulam : Devikulam is 7km from Munar. This idyllic hill station has its velvet lawns cool mountain , flora and fauna. Near to this place you will find Sita Devi Lake that gives you picturesque surroundings ,fishing spot and mineral waters.

Kuthumkal Waterfalls : Here you will find picturesque view of the water that cascading down from scintillating heights. The sheer beauty of the place attracts lots of tourists every year.

Observatory hills : This is a beautiful hill located at Nedumkandam. A Perfect location for people who like to see this heavenly body.

Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary : This is a unique thorny scrub forest with xerophytes species. This place is habitat of the endangered Gaint Grizzled squirrel of India.

Idukki Arch Dam : This dam, constructed across Kurathi and the Kuravan hills that is world's second and Asia's first arch dam.

Kuthumkal Waterfalls : Here you can see a picturesque view of the Water, cascading down from scintillating heights. Thousands of tourists come here to visit this place every year.
