Saneeswarar Temple in Pondicherry

Saneeswarar temple is located 7 kms from Pondicherry in a place called Moratandi on the Dindivanam-Pondicherry road.

On the road from Pondicherry, you have to take a mud road at the right hand side of the NH 45A. The road is dusty, riddled with potholes. But many sign boards are there to indicate the direction of the temple.

The campus where the temple is situated is named as 'Sun Garden'. The main idol of Saneeshwarar is 23 feet tall. Nowhere in the world has Saneeswarar had this type of

Vishwaroopam (Embodying the Universe itself) idol. Even in the word famous Thirunallar temple the height of the idol is only 1 feet (approximately).
